Delete your account

Applies to diner accounts on the remark app

You can delete your remark account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. There is no waiting period and nothing to request from us. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

This page exists so the route is findable without installing the app. If you can still sign in, use the app — it is faster and you stay in control of the whole thing.

In the app

Open remark and go to the Profile tab.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
Type DELETE to confirm.

Your account is erased straight away and you are signed out.

What is deleted

Everything tied to your account is removed from our database, not merely hidden:

Your profile, username, display name, bio and avatar
Every review you have written, and every photo attached to them
Any delivery order screenshots you uploaded as proof
Your check-in history
Your likes on other people’s reviews
Your points balance and points history, including unredeemed points
Reward redemptions, including any unused codes
Your notifications, and the notification token for your phone
Your sign-in credentials

Photos are deleted from file storage as well as from the database. Restaurant scores are recalculated immediately, so your ratings stop counting the moment the account goes.

What is kept, and why

Two narrow things survive, and neither identifies you:

Moderation records. If a review of yours was reported or removed, the record of that decision is retained so the same abuse cannot simply be repeated with a new account. It carries no personal details.
Payment records for any donation you made. Indian accounting rules require the transaction to stay on the books. Your name, email and account link are stripped from it and it becomes anonymous.

Aggregate restaurant scores also remain, recalculated without your input. They are statistics about restaurants, not about you.

Points are forfeited

Unredeemed points have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded. If you are holding points you want to use, redeem them before you delete.

If you cannot use the app

Email hello@remarks.co.in from the address on your account and ask for deletion. We will verify it is you and confirm when it is done.

Use this route if any of the following apply:

You have already uninstalled the app and cannot sign in
You added or claimed a restaurant listing. In-app deletion is blocked for these accounts so the listing can be transferred first rather than orphaned
You have a restaurant owner account on the dashboard rather than a diner account
