When was that review actually written?

On remark, recency isn't a filter you have to remember to apply. It's the foundation. A score is only ever the last 30 days, weighted so this week counts for more than last month.

Was the reviewer actually there?

Dine-in reviews need a check-in within 100 metres of the restaurant, and that distance is enforced on our servers — not in the app — so a modified client can't fake it.

What if you ordered in instead?

Delivery reviews need proof of a real order from the last 24 hours. Each order can be used exactly once, across every account, and it counts a little less than a visit in person.

Where did your last complaint go?

Here it goes straight to the owner with a clock running. They respond, or it escalates to us. You can see exactly where it stands the whole time.

If you run a restaurant, the same rules protect you. Nobody can review you without turning up, and nobody can buy their way past a bad month — including your competitors.

  • Your score is earned, not bought. There is no paid placement that changes it, and we won't remove an honest review because you asked.
  • See who is actually visiting. Verified check-ins, review trends and what people order — not guesswork.
  • Answer complaints before they spread. They come to you first, privately, with time to put it right.
  • Reward the regulars. Validate a diner's reward code at the counter in a couple of taps.
  • Under attack? Say so. Flag a coordinated run of reviews and we'll suspend them from your score while we look.
