The short version. Review honestly, review only places you actually went, and don't abuse anyone. Your reviews stay yours. Points are a thank-you, not money. Restaurants get a fair score and a fair process to dispute attacks. Break the rules and we'll remove content or close the account.
These Terms are an agreement between you and remark, operated as a sole proprietorship based in Kerala, India ("remark", "we", "us"). They apply to the remark mobile app, the restaurant dashboard, and remarks.co.in. By creating an account or using remark, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please don't use remark.
You must be 18 years or older. By creating an account you confirm that you are. If you are registering on behalf of a restaurant, you also confirm you are authorised to represent that business.
remark currently operates only in cities we have launched in. Outside those areas you can browse, but you cannot check in or post reviews.
Keep your password private, and let us know promptly if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. One person, one account — creating multiple accounts to post more reviews, farm points, or evade a ban is a serious violation and will result in permanent removal.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
remark exists because ordinary review sites can't tell who actually showed up. Our rules:

| 100 metres | You must be within 100 metres of a restaurant to check in. Your position is verified on our servers, not just in the app. |
| 48 hours | After checking in, you have 48 hours to submit your review and keep the verified badge. |
| 24 hours | You can review the same restaurant again after 24 hours — we want frequent visitors, not spam. |
| Delivery | Delivery reviews need proof of a real order from the last 24 hours. Each order can be used once, across all accounts. |
| Scoring | Scores use a rolling 30-day window, weighted by recency and reviewer trust. Restaurants with fewer than three recent reviews show no score. |
Attempting to defeat these checks — spoofing your location, using fabricated order details, or scripting the app — is a violation of these Terms.
You may not post:
You also may not scrape, copy, or bulk-extract data from remark, attempt to breach our security, or interfere with the service.
You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating and promoting remark. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we're legally required to retain something.
You can edit a review within 15 minutes of posting. After that the text is fixed, so that restaurants can rely on what they read.
Remember that reviews, photos and your profile are public. Don't post anything you wouldn't want publicly associated with you.
You earn points for verified reviews. Points can be redeemed for rewards at participating restaurants.
Points are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or exchanged for cash, and are not your property. They are a loyalty benefit we may modify or discontinue.
If you register a restaurant on remark:
remark offers a free listing plus paid plans — Starter at ₹999 per month and Pro at ₹2,999 per month — with analytics, review responses, and advertising features. Video advertising additionally requires a current score of at least 7.0 and a minimum number of recent verified reviews, because we won't promote a restaurant our own data says is underperforming.
Billing is currently manual. We have not yet integrated a payment processor. Plans are arranged and activated directly with us, and prices may change with notice before your next billing period. When automated billing is introduced, these Terms will be updated first.
We may remove content, suspend features, or close an account that violates these Terms. Depending on severity we may act without prior notice, particularly for explicit content, harassment, or organised review fraud. Removed reviews stop counting toward a restaurant's score, and their photos are permanently deleted.

Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not ours. We verify that a reviewer was physically present; we do not verify that what they say is accurate or fair.
We are not a party to your dealings with restaurants. remark is not a food-delivery service, does not prepare or sell food, and does not handle payments between you and a restaurant. Any dispute about a meal, a bill, service, or a reward is between you and that business.
We do not inspect kitchens. We do not verify hygiene, food safety, allergen information, or any licence beyond checking that an FSSAI number was provided. Always check directly with a restaurant about allergies or dietary requirements.
remark is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores and information will always be accurate or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, remark will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost business, or loss of data, arising from your use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹5,000.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot legally be limited under Indian law.
You agree to indemnify remark against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from content you post, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms.
You may stop using remark and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — content licences already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity — will do so.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — nearly everything can be resolved by email.
We may update these Terms as remark develops. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use remark after that means you accept the updated Terms.
